A new shore power facility was inaugurated today (26 Oct 2021) at the DFDS terminal in Copenhagen by, among others, Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor Lars Weiss. The facility significantly reduces the ships’ CO2 emissions while they are in port, thus ensuring cleaner air for the benefit of the environment and even more so for the neighbours on Østerbro. From the 24th of August, cruise guests who go ashore in Denmark must be aware of new requirements. The Danish Authorities now require that all guests are tested before going ashore. This applies to immune and vaccinated guests as well. (more…)

The cruise season was a successful one for Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP. Copenhagen welcomed 850,000 passengers, setting a new record. CMP is now investing in continued growth. A new terminal is being built in Copenhagen, and as from April 2018 Visby will form part of CMP’s cruise operations. (more…)

The Board of Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, has given the go-ahead to build a new cruise terminal in Copenhagen. The terminal will be located beyond the current Oceankaj in Ydre Nordhavn and will be able to handle more than 5,000 passengers per call. (more…)

The cruise ship business had a really good year at Copenhagen Malmö Port, with the total number of calls reaching 311, with 732,000 passengers. The cruise trend is on an upward curve and ships are getting bigger and bigger, paving the way for even more passengers in future. (more…)

Copenhagen Malmö Port, as the largest cruise port in Northern Europe present, and has once again won the attractive award from Cruise Insight 2015 Awards as “Best Turnaround Port Operations”.

In 2016 Copenhagen Malmö Port expects growth of 9% in the number of cruise visitors to Copenhagen, and at the end of June a record will be set for the number of visitors on one single day. (more…)

It will be a long and busy season with a total of 302 cruise arrivals in Copenhagen and Malmö, ending with the final Christmas cruise on 23 December.

In 2014 Copenhagen was named Best Baltic Cruise Destination. The figures for cruise traffic were 20.9 million gross tonnes (23.1) and around 772,000 passengers (837,000).  (more…)
