Disney Cruise Line will begin including the Dominican Republic in its Caribbean itineraries starting in November, marking a major boost for the country’s cruise tourism industry. 
The executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), Jean Luis Rodríguez, announced that the new Samaná Bayport will have the capacity to handle up to three cruise ships simultaneously, strengthening the Dominican Republic’s cruise tourism infrastructure.
President Luis Abinader oversaw the announcement that Port Samaná will officially open on November 24, marking a major milestone for cruise tourism development in the Dominican Republic.
Today at Fitur, the International Tourism Trade Fair taking place in Madrid, Spain, MSC Cruises spoke of their new year-round operation from La Romana, Dominican Republic starting November 2026.
Royal Caribbean unveiled its 2027-28 itinerary, with several ports in the Dominican Republic included, offering cruise passengers the opportunity to explore various tourist destinations in the country.
The Dominican Republic has reached a new milestone in cruise tourism with the simultaneous arrival of two cruise ships at the Port of Cabo Rojo in Pedernales, a first in the country and a key moment in the development of the deep south as a new tourism hub.
