Saga Confirms Launch of New Cruise Ship will be Delayed

Workplace and travel restrictions at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where the ship is being built, has meant the ship will not be complete in time for its planned August 19 launch in Portsmouth. British cruise ship denied entry to Gibraltar due to norovirus outbreak

Saga’s Spirit of Discovery was returning from a trip around Italy and Spain Saturday when it was turned away at Gibraltar, a British overseas territory on Spain’s southern coast. British cruise ship arrives in Norfolk on Boxing Day

The ship brought 1,000 passengers stateside, who spent the traditional English holiday touring local attractions and destinations, including the British-themed Dickens’ Christmas Towne located inside the cruise terminal. Saga travel firm blames partner for ‘exclusively for Brits’ cruise brochure
