Saga Travel’s 2023 river cruise schedule launched with a tranche of new and included benefits
As part of its 2023 river cruise itineraries released today for Saga’s new ships Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube, the travel specialist has also announced that both ships will become all-inclusive from the 2023 season, so all meals and drinks will now be covered including in the intimate, speciality restaurants. Saga’s brand new ship, the “Spirit of Adventure”, was named in a traditional bottle smashing ceremony at Portsmouth International Port today. She was named by the recently retired Head of the Royal Navy Medical Service, Commodore Inga J. Kennedy, in recognition of the countless hours of service given by medical professionals during the pandemic.
As the UK reaches ‘Freedom Day’ on July 19 – the day lockdown restrictions are finally lifted in Britain – Saga’s brand-new cruise ship, ‘Spirit of Adventure’ will be named with a traditional bottle smashing ceremony at Portsmouth International Port.
In a mark of respect to the medical profession that has worked so hard over the last 18 months dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, Commodore Inga J. Kennedy CBE QHNS QARNNS, senior Royal Navy officer, former Head of the Royal Navy Medical Service and Non-Executive Director of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, has been named today as the Godmother of Saga Cruises’ newest ship, Spirit of Adventure.
