Inaugural Rocky Point cruises canceled for December, rescheduled for January

The cruise line operating the new route that will explore the Gulf of California has had to delay the launch date. Cruise and Maritime Voyages has canceled the three sailings scheduled for December and said the first cruise will depart Puerto Peñasco, also known as Rocky Point, on Jan. 2. (eu.azcentral.com)

Update: Baltic Cities & St Petersburg Cruise (Cancellation of Columbus Iceland & Northern Isles cruise)

Cruise & Maritime Voyages' Columbus (Courtesy CMV)Cruise & Maritime Voyages has had to cancel the 14-night Baltic Cities & St Petersburg cruise holiday onboard Columbus, which was due to sail from London Tilbury, Thursday 27 June 2019. CMV does, however, have confirmation that Columbus will be leaving the shipyard on 7 July and resuming service on her following scheduled British Isles Discovery Cruise sailing from London Tilbury on 11 July. Cruise ship caught exceeding sulphur limit at Gieranger

The 1,250-berth MagellanThe Norwegian Maritime Authority has fined Greek cruise ship operator Global Cruise Lines Ltd. a total of $80,000 for using 0.17% sulphur fuel in a 0.10% sulfur ECA zone. In March, new Norwegian environmental requirements for emissions in several protected fjords – the Nærøyfjord, Aurlandsfjord, Geirangerfjord, Sunnylvsfjord and Tafjord – entered into force. Cruise & Maritime Voyages plans to introduce additional ship in UK in 2020

Vasco da Gama and Columbus at Singapore, April 2019Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV), the UK based destinational cruise operator, plans to add a ship to the UK market next year, Travel Weekly reports. The news came as CMV took delivery of its sixth vessel 1,220-passenger Vasco da Gama – its sixth ship – will be targeted at the German and Australian markets, but head of marketing Mike Hall said discussions had begun about adding a ship dedicated to the UK market next year.
