CMV’s Vasco da Gama ready to explore

Vasco da GamaVasco da Gama, Cruise and Maritime Voyages’ sixth ship will operate two voyages sailing from London Tilbury next year. Following in the steps of the famous Portuguese explorer CMV’s latest addition to the fleet will sail from Singapore to London Tilbury via India next April on a spectacular maiden voyage.

Fly from the UK on 22 April 2019 and join Vasco da Gama on this 45 night cruising holiday. Later in the year, sailing from London Tilbury on 9 October, a 53-night voyage to Sydney, Australia.

Vasco da Gama was the first European to reach India by sea, so it is fitting that the debut cruise sails to India. This 45-night itinerary also includes Sri Lanka, Thailand and transits the Suez Canal before entering the Mediterranean with an exciting range of eye-catching ports of call. Flights are included from London or Manchester in the fare.

The second departure is scheduled for 9 October 2019 sailing from London Tilbury to Barbados, and includes the Panama Canal, Acapulco, islands of the South Pacific, Auckland and 53 nights later arrives in Sydney. Vasco da Gama will join CMV’s German brand Transocean Kreuzfahrten with a series of cruises during the Summer period in 2019 sailing from Bremerhaven and Kiel.

The ship has a rich heritage and maritime pedigree and was originally launched in 1994 by Holland America Line as the Statendam. In 2015, the ship undertook a multi-million-pound refurbishment. At 55,820grt and with an impressive space ratio, she will carry about 1220 passengers accommodated in 630 cabins (including 100 singles and 149 balcony suites) and cabins with an 80% ocean view ratio.
