The Galveston Wharves, a major U.S. cruise homeport, and MSC Cruises, a leading international cruise company, are negotiating the development of a fourth cruise terminal at the Port of Galveston. 

Royal Caribbean Group’s soon-to-debut, state-of-the-art cruise terminal at the Port of Galveston in Galveston, Texas, is forging connections with the local community by celebrating local art and culture.
Royal Caribbean Group’s new Galveston terminal, which is opening Nov. 9, will be the first cruise terminal to generate 100% of its needed energy through on-site solar panels.
On the heels of the rave reviews of its newest ship Mardi Gras, Carnival Cruise Line today announced that its third Excel-class ship – to be named Carnival Jubilee – will be delivered in 2023 and based in Galveston, Tex.
Carnival Breeze returns to service today when it departs on a four-day cruise from Galveston, part of its popular schedule of short cruises from that port. The ship is the line’s third to resume service, following the sailings of Carnival Vista from Galveston and Carnival Horizon from Miami in early July.
To celebrate Carnival Cruise Line’s resumption of guest cruises from the U.S., Carnival President Christine Duffy, Carnival Vista Captain Andrea Catalani and local officials led a “Back to Fun” ribbon-cutting ceremony officially welcoming guests back on board.
Carnival Corporation today (May 28, 2021) received U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s (CDC) acceptance of its Phase 2A Port Agreements for PortMiami, Port of Galveston and Port Canaveral – all key homeports for Carnival Cruise Line and the first three homeports that Carnival is focusing on for its return to guest operations this summer.
In a unified showing of support to encourage the resumption of cruising in the U.S., Carnival Cruise Line joined members of the Federal Maritime Commission, Galveston city and port officials and local businesses at the Port of Galveston to highlight the economic impact of cruising in Galveston and throughout Texas.
Two of Carnival Cruise Line’s Galveston-based ships – Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista – arrived at the Port of Galveston earlier today (May 2, 2021) in anticipation of a cruise rally at the port on Monday to discuss the economic impact of the 14-month pause in operations.
The financial hits from COVID-19 just keep on coming, as cruise companies are now slashing expenses by delaying the start of major projects. Late Friday, Rodger Rees, port director, Port of Galveston, Texas, informed the Wharves Board of Trustees that Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
