A French cruise ship is being investigated for the second time in a month after reportedly striking a rock in Milford Sound. The Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) launched an investigation after the L’Austral ship “made contact with a submerged object” at Snares Island, near Stewart Island, last month, a spokesman said. Greenlandic authorities investigating the sinking of the Inuk II, a privately hired boat ferrying passengers from a cruise ship in Ilulissat Sunday night, are remaining tight-lipped about the incident until they have a complete overview of what caused the vessel to take on water, forcing the evacuation of all 23 passengers and three crew members.
