Cruise industry contributed €10.4 billion to UK economy 2017 – CLIA

AAA: Cruise Travelers Looking For More Luxury

At the same time, an analysis of AAA Travel’s cruise booking data from the last 12 months reveals an emerging trend of vacationers increasingly selecting smaller-ship voyages on luxury ocean and river cruise lines. Number of Young People Considering Taking a Cruise Rises

More young people are considering going on a cruise in the next 12 months compared to last year, according to ABTA’s latest Holiday Habits report. The report found 12 percent of 18-34 year olds are considering taking a cruise in the next 12 months –compared to 11 percent of 18-24 year olds and nine percent of 25-34 year olds in 2017. British Isles cruise passenger numbers predicted to grow at Record Rates

With just over quarter of a million individual cruise passengers predicted to make day calls to British Isles ports by the end of the season, the growth rate since 2012 averages a 13.5% annual rise against a northern European average of 3.86%. Stats: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL to Grow Gross Capacity by 30% by 2023

Over the next five years, Carnival Corporation & plc, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd are expected to grow their total gross capacity by more than 30 percent—or by 135,000 berths, Moody’s Investors Service says in a new report. The Orderbook page at Cybercruises.com has been updated with the announcements that Emerald Waterways will be putting a brand-new river cruise ship, the 84-passenger Emerald Harmony, on the Mekong River in 2019 (image), that Lindblad Expeditions placed an order for a second newbuilding polar expedition ship to join the National Geographic Enudurance and that Fincantieri has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Princess Cruises for two 175,000-ton ships.
