CLIA Launches First Ever New-to-cruise Guide
CLIA UK & Ireland will launch its first ever new-to-cruise guide for CLIA travel agent members, it was announced today at CLIA Cruise360 Malta.
Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, revealed the new-to-cruise guide will be available from 30 October as part of a range of measures to support CLIA travel agents who may be selling cruise for the first time.
The online guide has been produced following research amongst some of CLIA’s cruise line and travel agent working groups, and will provide agents with key information and facts on the cruise industry, aiming to help those who are new-to-cruise or who want to increase the number of cruises that they sell.
Included in the new-to-cruise guide is a cruise terminology glossary; a list of ships on order; ships sailing ex-UK in 2020; main worldwide embarkation ports; main European attractions and closest ports; key contacts at CLIA member cruise lines; and how to make the most of the CLIA membership.
The guide will be updated throughout the year to ensure agents are provided with the correct and most up to date information.
Harmer commented: “We’re very excited to announce our first ever new-to-cruise guide, created specifically for those who are actively selling cruise holidays. We hope this guide becomes the go-to source for agents to refer to anytime they need a cruise-related question answered, a fact clarifying, or to expand their knowledge of this sector. “We continue to encourage travel agents to feedback on what information should be included in future versions of the guide, and other ways in which CLIA can support agents who are looking to grow their knowledge and expertise”. CLIA travel agents can access the new-to-cruise guide via cruiseexperts.org
