American Queen Steamboat Company Honored as Gold Winner in the 2017 Travvy Awards
American Queen Steamboat Company has earned the prestigious Gold statuette in the Travvy Awards for Best River Cruise Line – U.S. which were held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Gotham Hall in New York City.
The annual Travvy Awards, known as the Academy Awards of the travel industry, recognize the highest standards of excellence in the travel industry and honor travel companies, travel products, travel agencies, and destinations for their outstanding achievement.
Travel suppliers, destinations and individuals from all over the world are eligible to submit their nominations to be considered for the honor of being recognized as an innovator in the industry. This year, over 100,000 votes — the largest voting block of agents in history — were cast to determine the 2017 Travvy Awards winners. These winners were honored during an awards dinner and presentation attended by the finalists, industry leaders and travel professionals.
American Queen Steamboat Company re-creates the same sense of wonder, excitement and inspirations of the nation’s early exploration with all the convenience and comfort of modern luxury aboard two of the largest and most elegant riverboats in the world, the American Queen and the American Empress. 2017 will introduce the newest addition to the vessel fleet with the American Duchess – the first, U.S. all-suite paddlewheel vessel with the largest accommodations in every cabin category level on the river.

On schedule for its June debut, construction on the American Duchessis underway and running smoothly. Deck plates have been removed on the vessel to allow for full fabricated bulkheads for the new crew flat to be inserted on the first three decks. Offering the most inclusive river cruise experience in North America, fares on the American Duchess begin at an affordable $1,499 per guest based on double occupancy.
