Hungarian prosecutors on Thursday charged the Ukrainian captain of a Swiss cruise liner which hit and sank another boat in May with misconduct leading to mass casualties and 35 counts of failing to provide help in a disaster which killed 27 people.

Burlington is set to become a stop for a major river cruise line in the next few years. City officials signed a two-year agreement Monday with Viking Cruises, which is based in Basel, Switzerland. A Viking Cruises ship and a petroleum tanker collided near the Netherlands on Monday, the NBC affiliate 9News reported. Five people from the Viking ship reportedly suffered minor injuries from the collision. No one on the petroleum tanker was injured, according to the 9News report. Viking River Cruises offers river cruises across the world and wants to begin touring the Mississippi. However, in order for the company to stop in Dubuque, they say the city needs to build a new dock. The company said it could cost up to $4 million and said they are interested in partnering with the city to make this happen. (kcrg.com)
