A group of cruise passengers on an off-boat excursion in St. Marteen narrowly avoided the unthinkable after their van accidentally ended up upside-down in the ocean on Saturday. Footage taken at the scene of the accident appears to show the van partially submerged in the bay, its front end underwater and the back of the vehicle still just above the surface. (foxnews.com)

Port St. Maarten welcomed a total of 1,597,101 cruise passengers on 489 cruise calls in 2018, reflecting a 29% increase in visitor arrivals year-over-year. St Maarten just had its busiest cruise day of the year, according to Port St Maarten. Just in time for Boxing Day, the destination welcomed seven cruise ships. Six vessels were moored at the two cruise piers at the Dr AC Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facility, while one was at anchor in Great Bay. (caribjournal.com)
