Port Canaveral First Port in U.S. to Support COVID-19 Vaccinations for Seafarers

Rivkees, MD issued on April 29 expanding vaccine eligibility to include individuals who are in the state for purpose of providing good or services for the benefit of residents and visitors of the State of Florida. Port Canaveral Disappointed in CDC Guidance

Port Canaveral, the second busiest cruise port globally, has responded to Friday’s CDC guidance. “For a year now, we have been working closely with our cruise partners and directly with the CDC to find a way forward for the return of cruising from Port Canaveral,” said Captain John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO, in a statement issued late Friday evening. Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal Parking to Feature E-PASS® Contactless Transaction Technology

New Cruise Terminal 3 parking garage will be the first to install the E-PASS contactless payment system, then to remaining Port Canaveral-owned parking garages (November 2020)The Canaveral Port Authority (CPA) and the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) have executed an “Interlocal Agreement for Electronic Parking Fee Collection” to implement the E-PASS automated system at the Port that will enable customers to use contactless payment for parking at Port Canaveral-owned parking facilities with an E-PASS prepaid account. Disney Cruise Line’s Port Canaveral Terminal to Close for Extensive Refurbishment in June 2020 Ahead of Disney Wish Arrival

Disney Cruise Line passengers should be aware of a change to cruises embarking and debarking from Port Canaveral. According to Disney Cruise Line Blog, documents revealed ahead of Wednesday’s Port Canaveral board of commission meeting show that the cruise line’s Cruise Terminal 8 (CT8) will be closed for a five-month refurbishment from June to October of next year. Port Canaveral Teams Up with Nonprofit Organization for Bahamas Relief

Port Canaveral commissioners approve $118 million budget, expect strong gains in cruise revenue

Port Canaveral (Aereal view, courtesy Canaveral Port Authority) Strong gains in Port Canaveral’s cruise business are expected to help boost the port’s overall revenue by 8.5% and profits by 13.1% for the budget year that begins Oct. 1. Port Canaveral commissioners on Wednesday unanimously approved a budget for fiscal 2019-20 that projects $118.31 million in revenue, including $89.79 million from cruise operations. That’s a 7.2% increase in the port’s cruise sector, compared with the current year’s budget. (eu.floridatoday.com)

Disney Cruise Line’s new Port Canaveral terminal readies for construction

Work will start soon to prepare Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminals 8 and 10 for some new Disney ships. That’s according to Bill Crowe, vice president of engineering, construction and facilities for Port Canaveral, who was one of several panelists at Orlando Business Journal’s Doing Business in Brevard County luncheon on Aug. 23. Six cruise ships and thousands of passengers sailed into Port Canaveral Thursday, one day after the port reopened after Hurricane Dorian passed through the area. That’s the name documents on terminal construction at Port Canaveral are using. The name appears on a construction rendering while the words “Triton class” of ships also appears on part of the agenda for the Canaveral Port Authority commission meeting set for Wednesday. First Steel for Cruise Terminal 3 Waterside Construction Arrives at Port Canaveral

Waterside construction at Port Canaveral’s new state-of-the-art Cruise Terminal 3 is underway and a new 1,309-foot-long berth is about to take shape with the arrival of the first steel for the bulkhead wall. Intermarine LLC’s Ocean Globe, a 545-foot multi-purpose U.S.-flagged vessel, arrived at the Port this week to discharge 261 steel pipes ranging in length from 110.5 feet to 126 feet. (more…)

But Murray says his “favorite slide in the whole presentation” is the first one he showed — the one that showed the record numbers for total revenue, operating revenue, cruise revenue, cargo revenue and cargo tonnage for the Florida port for the budget year that ended Sept. 30.
