P&O Cruises will position Azura in Malta for a series of summer cruises and Oceana again back to the Arabian Gulf as parts of the line’s 2021-22 programme, it said in a statement. Oceana’s 2019-20 winter programme in the Arabian Gulf was cancelled due to security concerns a few weeks ago. The ship will return top the region for the 2020-21 winter season as well. Passengers on a luxury P&O cruise were forced to sleep at a sports venue in Monte Carlo after choppy seas meant they could not return to their ship. P&O Cruises has revealed details on flagship Britannia’s forthcoming refit, which will include a new art gallery, a Dixons, more high-end shopping brands and a completely refurbished Atrium. An Italian gelateria and pop-up circus acts are among the family-friendly attractions on P&O Cruises’ next new ship Iona, the line announced today (July 30). The 5,200-passenger ship, launching in May 2020, is being designed with parents and children in mind. Iona will debut several new eateries, including The Boardwalk Diner, serving burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken and Southern soul food; the Asian takeaway Fusion; Hook Line and Vinegar for traditional British fish and chips, and The Olive Grove, for Mediterranean dishes and sharing plates.
