MSC Cruises and the Port of Helsinki, today (30 April 2019) inaugurated a newly built berth for mega cruise ships. At the occasion of the inaugural ceremony, senior leaders of MSC Cruises and the Port of Helsinki cut the ribbon together to celebrate the launch of operations at this new berth. (more…)

More cruise ships than ever will be arriving in Helsinki this summer season. The estimates are high: nearly 300 ships and as many as 540,000 passengers are expected in the city. In 2017, Helsinki grew to become the busiest passenger port in Europe and possibly the entire world with 12.3 million passengers. Passenger numbers continued to increase on the Helsinki-Tallinn route in particular, reflecting the development of Helsinki and Tallinn into ‘twin cities’ with close economic and social ties. (more…)

The number of international cruise ship passengers rose to an all-time record this year totalling 478,000 foreign passengers. In 2016, the number was 409,000, while the previous record was 436,500 in 2015. (more…)
