Originally set to launch in August of 2020, the ship’s construction was delayed as the global health crisis forced a shutdown of MV WERFTEN where Crystal Endeavor is currently under construction. Crystal Cruises says it’s ‘not going out of business,’ still processing refunds

Crystal Cruises (logo)One of the world’s best-known luxury cruise lines, Crystal Cruises, tried to assuage customer fears about its viability late Thursday by issuing a statement saying it wasn’t on the brink of shutting down. “It is important to understand that the company is not going out of business,” the Miami-based line said in the statement. ‘Whatever option our parent company pursues, it will allow Crystal to operate its business.” (thepointsguy.com)

Crystal Endeavor Delayed to 2021

Crystal Endeavor  undocked in Stralsund  (Courtesy MV Werften, Dec.2019)Citing work stoppages due to the COVID-19 pandemic at MV Werften, the Crystal Endeavor now won’t enter revenue service until 2021. The new 200-guest Endeavor was originally poised to enter server this summer in Japan, coinciding with the Olympics. The ship also marks Crystal’s debut into the expedition market with a six-star vessel. (cruiseindustrynews.com)
