Major port upgrade for Broome, Western Australia

The port of Broome is poised to become a cruise stop for major cruise lines following the announcement by the Western Australian Government that proposed dredging work will commence mid-2019. Traditionally Broome has been restricted to smaller vessels such as the 50m True North and other expedition-sized ships due to the huge tidal range in the area, often as much as six metres.
