In order to celebrate these 30 years of sailing all the seas of the world, PONANT, world leader in luxury expeditions and the only French-owned cruise line, is unveiling an anniversary programme and looking back over the great moments that have shaped its history.
30 years of luxury à la française on all the world’s oceans
From its very beginnings, PONANT, the only cruise line sailing under the French flag, made the bold move of proposing a new style of cruising, through a unique conception of sea travel combining exceptional itineraries and elegant hotel service aboard ships on an intimate scale.
For 30 years, the company has been endeavouring to send the “French way of life” to all the world’s oceans. This “French touch” is especially embodied by a French crew for whom discreet service and gastronomy take pride of place. Aboard limited-capacity yachts, specially designed for expeditions, guests access, in a privileged and responsible manner, preserved territories in conditions offering unrivalled standards of comfort and service.
With a fleet of 12 ships, 2,000 crew members and 460 departures planned in 2021, PONANT, the world leader in luxury expeditions, will sail all the seas in the world faithful to its philosophy: to exceptional destinations: the Antarctic, the Arctic, Alaska, the Amazon, the Orinoco, the Scattered Islands, Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, and soon even the roof of the world, the geographic North Pole.
2018: a year of celebrations for PONANT!
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, PONANT is unveiling an all-new programme:
• For its most loyal customers, the members of the Ponant Yacht Club, PONANT is proposing 2 exceptional itineraries which echo 2 regions of the world that are emblematic for the company: the Ponant Islands and Wallis and Futuna. Discover PONANT’s 30-year anniversary cruises
• Aboard its ships, guests will be able to purchase a collection of limited-edition clothing and travel accessories celebrating the cruise line’s 30th anniversary
• A book retracing the history of the company through its finest photographs and testimonials from PONANT companions will be released in the autumn
• PONANT will also be organising a series of exclusive events in Brussels, Nice, Bordeaux, Lille, Marseille, Lyon and Paris so as to go out and meet its partner travel agents
• 2018 will also be the launch year for the 2 first ships in the new PONANT EXPLORERS series, Le Lapérouse and Le Champlain
• A documentary film will close this year of celebration
