London, New York, Los Angeles: AIDA Cruises issues worldwide casting call
The shows on board the AIDA cruise ships are legendary. Every day the artistes on a total of 24 stages on 10 AIDA ships captivate their audiences of all ages with elaborate productions, dazzling costumes and their huge passion for the stage.
Now the cruise company is once again seeking the greatest talents for an engagement on board the AIDA ships and is recruiting worldwide – holding auditions from London to Los Angeles.
This year, 570 excellent singers, dancers, artistes and actors are being sought for ensembles with up to 19 members. That’s also the case for the new flagship, AIDAprima, which will begin its first metropolis cruises in April 2016. At the AIDA Beachclub, situated beneath a transparent dome, at the Club Nightfly, and on the AIDA Plaza, entirely new scope will once again be opened up for exhilarating entertainment.
Performers will have to meet extremely high standards: “Apart from a first-class dance and artiste ensemble, we are looking for excellent rock, pop and musical singers whose talents will thrill our guests every day at our exclusive and innovative shows. Our performers must be able not only to sing and dance, but they must also be consummate entertainers who will instantly spellbind audiences with their expressiveness and charm,” says Christoph Süsens, Head of the Casting Department at AIDA Cruises.
The performers with AIDA Entertainment in Hamburg will be rehearsing up to 12 shows in every possible genre. This is also where the elaborate shows are developed and produced by a creative team.
From February 2016 AIDA will once again be touring the world on the hunt for talent. Eleven cities in seven countries are on the itinerary ranging from Hamburg and London through Amsterdam and Kiev to New York. The casting sessions will kick off at London’s renowned Pineapple Dance Studios where singers and dancers will audition from February 1-3, in front of a jury of choreographers and musicians.
The auditions will continue over the coming weeks and months. The highlight of this tour will be the dates in Los Angeles, with auditions taking place at the end of March at the Screenland Studios, followed by the New York auditions at the end of April at the Ripley Grier Studios.
