Southwest N.S. port of call for six cruise ships this fall

The Shelburne Marine Terminal is located within the Shelburne Harbour in South-Western Nova Scotia. Shelburne Harbour is approximately 200 Kilometers southwest of Halifax (Logo) The first of six cruise ships scheduled to stop in southwestern Nova Scotia will be arriving Sept. 9 in Shelburne.

The Seabourn Ovation, carrying about 500 passengers, will be spending the day in the historic seaside town. It is scheduled to arrive at 8 a.m. and depart at 4 p.m. Passengers will be tendered ashore at Dock Street.

“It’s exciting for us,” said Jessica Dyer, executive co-ordinator for the Town of Shelburne. “We are really excited to have cruise ship visitors to our town again. We are doing a mini-farmers market at the Guild Hall. We have 17 vendors. The museum is going to be open and providing free passes to the passengers and walking tours. We will have a shuttle service to take visitors around town and out to the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre. That’s what we’re promoting.”
