Windstar Cruises Unveils Itinerary Protection for 2026–2027 Sailings

Windstar Cruises (logo)As consumers navigate ongoing travel uncertainty, Windstar Cruises today announced the launch of its new Peace of Mind Promise which gives guests the confidence to book now for eligible 2026 and 2027 sailings with unmatched flexibility and full-itinerary protection.

Unlike most flexible booking programs that cover only the cruise fare, Windstar’s Peace of Mind Promise protects the entire Windstar-booked journey – including cruise, shore excursions, hotels, air, and transfers – delivering true end-to-end confidence from booking to departure.

With many travelers still finalizing their summer 2026 plans and seeking the right moment to book, the Peace of Mind Promise removes hesitation. Guests can secure their preferred voyages now while taking advantage of a limited-time complimentary All-Inclusive offer, available for bookings through June 30, 2026.

This added value includes Wi-Fi, gratuities, and select beverages – representing more than $1,300 in value on a seven-day voyage for two – making it an especially compelling time to book. Guests can cancel up to seven days prior to departure and retain the majority of their trip value as a Future Cruise Credit, making it easy to rebook when the time is right.

The benefit is automatically included at no additional cost on eligible sailings departing through March 31, 2027, and applies to both new reservations and existing bookings already under deposit, offering immediate reassurance for travelers and a powerful selling tool for advisors.

“Travelers are paying close attention to the headlines as they plan their vacations, and advisors need flexibility and reassurance when helping clients book with confidence,” said Janet Bava.

“Our new Peace of Mind program gives guests the ability to secure today’s best offers while knowing their investment is protected through March 2027. From Alaska and the Mediterranean to French Polynesia, advisors can confidently match clients with the right sailing, backed by added booking flexibility and support.”

Where to Go Now: Summer Plans, Protected!

From sailing glacier-lined routes from Vancouver to Alaska to island-hopping in Greece, exploring the temples of Japan, or escaping to the lagoons of Tahiti, Windstar’s small-ship itineraries unlock immersive access to some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. The Peace of Mind Promise ensures those plans remain flexible, even as travel conditions evolve.

Featured 2026–2027 voyages include:

Alaskan Splendors (Vancouver to Seward, 10 nights): Cruise glaciers and fjords with up-close wildlife encounters—all starting in Vancouver for seamless travel.

Bella Italia: A Southern Italian Romance (Rome to Venice, 8 nights): Discover Calabria and Puglia, from Amalfi Coast treks to hands-on culinary experiences and historic coastal towns.

Classic Caribbean (St. Maarten roundtrip, 7 nights): Discover hidden coves, volcanic peaks, and vibrant island culture across multiple Caribbean gems.

Dreams of Tahiti (Roundtrip Papeete, 7 nights): Explore six islands including Bora Bora and Moorea, with overnights, cultural immersion, and Windstar’s Signature Beach Party.

Grand Japan (Tokyo to Kobe/Kyoto, 10 nights): Experience Japan’s blend of ancient tradition and modern culture, from vibrant cities to serene coastal landscapes.

Treasures of the Greek Isles (Athens roundtrip, 7 nights): Sail to Santorini, Mykonos, Patmos and Ephesus, blending iconic views with ancient history and exclusive onboard experiences.

Full-Itinerary Coverage, Not Just the Cruise Fare

Unlike many flexible-booking programs that exclude add-ons, Windstar’s Peace of Mind Promise covers the full Windstar-booked itinerary: cruise fare, shore excursions, hotels, air, and transfers. Future Cruise Credits are valid for 24 months from issuance and may be applied to any Windstar voyage worldwide.

Two Layers of Protection: Flexibility and Coverage
For travelers seeking additional security beyond cancellation flexibility, Windstar also offers optional Travel Protection which can be added at the time of booking. This comprehensive plan is designed to protect guests from the moment they book to the moment they return home, including coverage for medical expenses abroad, covered trip interruptions, luggage delays, and more.

A Tool for Advisors in a Cautious Booking Environment
According to Bava, industry data has consistently shown US travelers shortening booking windows and prioritizing cancellation flexibility before committing to international itineraries.

The Peace of Mind Promise applies not only to new bookings, but also to existing reservations sailing through March 2027, once final payment is made. If a client cancels under the Promise, they retain a strong incentive to rebook using their Future Cruise Credit, creating a high-intent opportunity for advisors.

“With the Peace of Mind Promise, advisors can confidently recommend Windstar knowing their clients have flexibility built in, plus the option of additional insurance coverage when appropriate,” Bava added.
