Atlas owner inks China deal for up to four new ships
Atlas Ocean Voyages‘ owner Mystic Cruises has inked a deal with China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Corporation to build one firm order for a new cruise ship, along with options for three additional vessels.
Mystic President Mario Ferreira was on hand to sign the deal at a ceremony in China last week, alongside Mei Zhonghua, the Vice General Manager of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry and General Manager of China Merchants Cruise Manufacturing Company.
While no further details of the new ship have yet been released, the ships have been confirmed to be tri-fuel. And while it is not confirmed which brand the ship is destined for, Ferreira has previously expressed a desire to expand the Atlas fleet.
