Hamburg presents itself to the international cruise industry together with eleven industry partners
From April 13 to 16, 2026, the global cruise industry will gather at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami. Hamburg will be represented as the only German destination, with a total of eleven exhibitors and its own booth serving as a satellite stand of the German Pavilion.
The world’s leading cruise industry event is expected to welcome more than 11,500 visitors and over 650 exhibitors from 128 nations. For Hamburg, the trade fair provides an important opportunity to showcase itself to the key U.S. market as well as to more than 75 leading cruise lines worldwide.
“We are expecting a record number of more than 330 calls in Hamburg this year, around one third of them at the new HafenCity terminal. The terminal´s central location within a vibrant urban quarter offers passengers a truly unique arrival experience right in the heart of the city,” says Simone Maraschi, Managing Director of Hamburg terminal operator Cruise Gate Hamburg GmbH.
In addition to the terminals in Altona and Steinwerder, the new Cruise Center HafenCity creates further opportunities for use and provides a flexible and high-performance infrastructure for existing and new customers. Expanding partnerships and tapping into new market opportunities – particularly in the U.S. market – will be a key focus of discussions in Miami.
At booth 1133 in the Destination Hall at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Cruise Gate Hamburg GmbH will once again be joined by numerous member companies of Hamburg Cruise Net e.V., all of which are closely linked to the cruise industry and represent key partners within the sector:
Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein, Bernhard Schulte Cruise Services GmbH & Co. KG, DFI Dauerflora International GmbH, H.C. Röver Maritime Agency GmbH, HMS Hanseatic Marine Services GmbH & Co. KG, Kadmos Technologies GmbH, MTC Marine Training Center Hamburg GmbH, Radiopark GmbH & Co. KG as well as Sartori & Berger GmbH & Co. KG.
“The cruise destination Hamburg is developing dynamically. In addition to growing numbers of ship calls and passengers, the strong presence of cruise-related service providers based in Hamburg contributes significantly to the value creation at the location,” explains Christine Beine, Managing Director of Hamburg Cruise Net. AIDA Cruises alone works with more than 600 partner companies in the Hanseatic city.
Tourism figures published in March by the German Travel Association (DRV) show that cruises continue to gain popularity among German travelers. With 4.2 million ocean and river cruises taken by German holidaymakers, the record level of 2024 was surpassed by another 10 percent in 2025.
Total spending on cruise travel amounted to around EUR 6.7 billion. The success of the industry and the Northern Europe cruising region was also evident in Hamburg in 2025, including record figures of 295 ship calls and approximately 1.4 million passengers.
