Costa Cruises Announces The Second World Cruise In 2026 Aboard Costa Serena
An exclusive itinerary from Tokyo to Buenos Aires aboard Costa Serena: 66 days across Asia, Oceania, and South America, featuring iconic stops, remote islands, and unforgettable tours.
Costa Cruises presents the new 2026 World Cruise aboard Costa Serena, an unprecedented itinerary spanning three continents – Asia, Oceania and South America – for a total of 66 cruise days, 15 countries, 26 destinations and 14 dream islands. Departure is scheduled for October 18, 2026, from Tokyo, arriving in Buenos Aires on December 22, 2026.
The journey will begin in the wonders of the Far East, where guests will be able to explore Tokyo with tours of its iconic neighborhoods, views from Tokyo Tower and traditional markets. In Keelung, they can discover the charm of Taipei, between modernity and tradition, while in Hong Kong they can experience the vibrant atmosphere of the city with a panoramic tour of skyscrapers and temples.
Heading south, the Philippines will offer an immersion in the wild nature, from jungles to coral reefs, before reaching Bali, where an overnight stay will allow guests to fully enjoy the island’s spirituality and beaches. In Australia, Sydney offers the spectacular Grand Pacific Drive or a visit the famous Taronga Zoo, while Brisbane and Cairns promise authentic experiences with local wildlife, such as a visit to Hartley’s Crocodile Farm.
Crossing the Pacific, guests will visit dream islands such as Nouméa, Lifou, Suva, Tonga, Rarotonga and Tahiti with unique cultural and natural experience, while the Pitcairn Islands will offer a rare glimpse into one of the most isolated communities in the world.
The journey will end in South America, among the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. In San Antonio, Chile, guests can tour Santiago’s landmarks or follow in the footsteps of Pablo Neruda. In Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, the colors and flavors of the Pacific will accompany travelers southward to Ushuaia, where an overnight stay is planned to explore the southernmost city on Earth. Finally, in Puerto Madryn, they will have the opportunity to watch whale and penguin sightings.
The Costa Serena World Cruise will also be available in three separately purchasable segments:
Tokyo – Sydney (26 days)
Sydney – San Antonio (Santiago) (27 days)
San Antonio – Buenos Aires (15 days)
Each segment includes a selection of tours designed to highlight the most iconic stops, offering authentic and memorable experiences.
“With the new 2026 World Cruise aboard Costa Serena, we are further expanding our offer with a one-of-a-kind itinerary: by departing from Japan instead of Europe, we greatly enrich the journey between East and South America via Oceania. After innovations on shorter itineraries, such as the introduction of ‘fly&cruise’ options to the Canary Islands or from Hong Kong, for winter 2026/2027 we are also introducing innovation on the most iconic cruises such as the World Cruise. With Serena, we complement our offer by embarking from Tokyo and disembarking in Buenos Aires with different stopovers. This itinerary represents an invitation to experience the wonders of the world in a profound and authentic way, perfectly aligned with our positioning ‘Live Your Wonder’, offering our guests not just a cruise, but an experiential journey filled with emotions, discoveries and unforgettable moments, accompanied by the quality and hospitality that have always defined us.” – said Luigi Stefanelli, Vice President Worldwide Sales of Costa Cruises.
Costa Serena combines elegance and sophistication, with spacious panoramic decks inspired by famous constellations. Every onboard space is a visual delight that immediately puts guests in “fun mode.”
In November 2025, Costa Serena will undergo a dry dock refit, after which the ship will return to service fully upgraded, with environments and features aligned with the latest innovations introduced on other vessels.
On board, guests will find a new, vibrant and contemporary food court with innovative restaurants and bars, such as the Archipelago restaurant with menus by three Michelin-starred chefs, the Pummid’Oro Pizzeria and the Sushino@Costa. The main restaurants will feature fresh, modern designs, while pools and bars will be beautifully redesigned. Suites will be completely renovated to offer maximum comfort and style, along with a Sunset Lounge for evening aperitifs, a dedicated VIP area, and the new SOLEMIO SPA for a relaxing break.
Since the seventies, Costa has been among the first cruise lines to offer this exceptional journey and, with this new proposal, expands its portfolio with two World Cruises in 2026 and one in 2027.
In 2026, in addition to Costa Serena, the “traditional” World Cruise aboard Costa Deliziosa will also be available, featuring an itinerary through the Mediterranean, passing through Casablanca and the Canary Islands, and then reaching the Caribbean and South America. The journey will continue to Easter Island, Fiji and Australia, and then explore Japan, Vietnam and Singapore.
Finally, the cruise will sail through the Maldives, Mauritius, South Africa and Capo Verde, immersing guests in extraordinary and fascinating destinations. The departure is scheduled for November 21, 2025, from Trieste.
The 2027 edition of World Cruise aboard Costa Deliziosa will also include a very special itinerary to discover new destinations, including Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas (exclusive to Costa guests), the most iconic cities on the East and West Coast of the United States, the Hawaiian Islands, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Southeast Asia and Africa.
