Celestyal Cruises is returning to Cuba on October 20th, 2017, for its 5th year of winter deployment; its unmatched, all-inclusive, seven-day circumnavigation of one of the world’s most beautiful island nations will continue to operate with the Celestyal Crystal.
Recent incidents exclusively involving U.S. and Canadian diplomats, as reported in media, are entirely unrelated to tourism and currently under investigation by the governments of Cuba, the USA and Canada.
“Safety and security at sea and on land are our highest priorities at Celestyal Cruises, and we are pleased to be able to maintain our impeccable standards while providing our passengers with authentic lifetime experiences on one of the great gems of the Caribbean.
The visa-issuing process for all of our passengers remains unchanged, and we continue to offer a People-to-People itinerary that meets current U.S. legal requirements for a full-time program of educational and cultural exchange activities on-board and ashore. None of our local service providers, including our shore excursion programs, are military owned or operated. For your convenience we offer embarkation in Montego Bay, Jamaica or Havana, Cuba; in addition to an overnight in Havana (two full days) we offer day visits to Cienfuegos, known as the pearl of the south, Santiago de Cuba and Montego Bay, Jamaica.”
Post Hurricane Irma, Cuba is quickly returning to normal. There is no damage to any port facility and all cruise operations in Cuba are running smoothly. Cuba’s ministry of tourism has confirmed that tourist facilities were largely back to normal just one week after Irma. Celestyal has also received confirmation from their local agents that there will be no change to our shore excursion operation. In short, none of the tourist sites that are part of Celestyal’s itinerary have been affected.
