Port NOLA Marks Ninth Year Surpassing One Million Cruise Passenger Movements
The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) closed calendar year 2025 with 1,067,407 cruise passenger movements, marking the ninth year the port has exceeded one million annual passengers (excluding 2020 and 2021 due to Covid) and reinforcing its position as one of the nation’s leading cruise destinations. American Cruise Lines is launching a new eight-day cruise next spring that will travel along the Gulf Coast from New Orleans to Pensacola.
Carnival Cruise Line is jazzed about marking another significant milestone from the popular homeport of New Orleans as the first cruise operator to embark more than seven million guests from the port since beginning year-round cruising in 1994.
Trumpets blared aboard Carnival Liberty today (May 6, 2024) as Carnival Cruise Line celebrated its 30th year sailing from New Orleans. 

Carnival Cruise Line joined forces with wide receiver and New Orleans native Ja’Marr Chase to welcome a group of 50 young students from area schools for a special event aboard Carnival Valor.
Today, (September 22, 2022) the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) elected Jack C. Jensen, Jr. to serve as Board Chairman, succeeding Charles H. Ponstein, whose term as Chairman ended this month.
Carnival Glory is set to depart on a seven-day cruise from the Port of New Orleans this afternoon marking the first sailing from the city since the industry-wide pause in operations 18 months ago.
Carnival Cruise Line announced today that it has an agreement with the city of New Orleans and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide “Carnival Glory” for first responders housing through Sept. 18. 
The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) recognizes its fourth annual Maritime Month May 1-31 and National Maritime Day on May 22 to pay tribute to the region’s rich maritime history and to recognize the hardworking men and women who ensure essential goods and freight reach their destinations. 
Brandy D. Christian, Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) President and CEO, and New Orleans Public Belt Railroad Corporation (NOPB) CEO, highlighted the successes of the agencies’ diverse business profile in 2019, and focused on the opportunities ahead at the annual State of the Port address today (Sep.11) hosted by the International Freight Forwarders & Customs Brokers Association of New Orleans. 
The Port of New Orleans’ (Port NOLA) Strategic Master Plan, Port NOLA Forward, will earn the Port a Silver 2019 National Planning Achievement Award for Economic Development Planning from the American Planning Association (APA) for identifying and seizing upon economic growth opportunities.
