Start of construction of the first LNG cruise ship in the world at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg for AIDA Cruises

On February 21, 2017, a new age dawned for the cruise shipping sector at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg. AIDA President Felix Eichhorn and Meyer Werft Director Bernard Meyer performed the symbolic first steel cutting for the world’s first cruise ship that can be run completely on liquid natural gas (LNG). Unique Dynamic Lighting system by Wärtsilä Funa creates a special look for Dream Cruise’s stunning new cruise ship

The Genting Dream (Artist impression courtesy Dream Cruises)Wärtsilä is supplying a special external lighting system for a new cruise ship currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The 150,000 GRT vessel, the “Genting Dream”, has been ordered by Dream Cruises, part of Genting Hong Kong, a global leisure company, based in Asia. (more…)

Photos: Genting Dream Begins Conveyance

Dream Cruises’ new Genting Dream left Meyer Werft shipyard recently and started its journey on the Ems river. The ship will start revenue service for Dream in Asia this coming November, and is the first ship for the new brand owned by Genting Hong Kong. (cruiseindustrynews.com)

Carnival Corporation orders two new cruise ships for Carnival Cruise Line and one new cruise ship for P&O Cruises

Norwegian Escape arrived safely in the Dutch port of Eemshaven on Saturday morning at about 8.30 am. The River Ems conveyance of the new cruise ship works very well and without any problems. The Ship will leave Eemshaven next Thursday (September, 24)
