Excitement was in the air today (August 15, 2017) at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, as Royal Caribbean International marked the official start of construction by cutting the first piece of steel for its new Quantum Ultra ship. 
On 31 May, 2017, at 6:00 pm, one of the best-kept secrets of the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg was lifted: a spectacular graffiti surprise revealed the name of the first ship of the first generation that can run on LNG (liquefied natural gas) with nearly zero emissions.
Norwegian Cruise Line and Meyer Werft today, May 24,2017, celebrated the keel laying of Norwegian Bliss at the yard’s state of the art facility in Papenburg, Germany. 


On 4 March 2017 the 168.800 gt cruise ship Norwegian Joy will float out of Meyer Werft’s covered building dock II. 


Genting Hong Kong announced the official river conveyance of Genting Dream, the newest ship for the Dream Cruises line, that began on Sunday, September 18 in Papenburg, Germany.
All eyes are on cruise ships in Germany following the creation of a second major newbuilding group alongside Meyer Werft. (motorship.com)
