Royal Caribbean cancels all Odyssey of the Seas sailings through April 2021

Royal Caribbean International  (logo)Royal Caribbean has announced due to COVID-19’s impact on the cruise line and shipyard operations, it has cancelled all scheduled Odyssey of the Seas sailings between November 5, 2020 – April 17, 2021. The cruise line made the announcement on Tuesday that the next new cruise ship on order is officially delayed due to a variety of factors that Royal Caribbean faces in the current economic climate. Saga Confirms Launch of New Cruise Ship will be Delayed

Workplace and travel restrictions at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where the ship is being built, has meant the ship will not be complete in time for its planned August 19 launch in Portsmouth. Shipyards Gradually Return to Work Building Cruise Ships

VARD Shipyard, NorwayTwo of the biggest shipyards in Europe forced to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic are taking their first steps to reopen. Fincantieri, which operates several shipyards in Italy, was forced to stop all work during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in that country. P&O Cruises Reveals Maiden Voyage of New Ship Iona Will be Delayed

Iona -  P&O CruisesP&O Cruises has today revealed that new ship Iona — the largest ever built for the UK market — will be delayed with the maiden voyage postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic. P&O Cruises’ President, Paul Ludlow, made the announcement as work slows down on the 5,200 vessel at the at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where the final stages of the ship’s build is taking place. Meyer Werft suspends work on Iona

Spectrum of the Seas is getting closer to completion as she was floated out of the dry dock on February 25th, 2019 to begin the next phase of her construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Designed specifically for the Chinese market, Spectrum is scheduled for delivery in April 2019.

Royal Caribbean International marked an important milestone today as the first piece of steel was cut for its second Quantum Ultra Class ship at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The 27th ship in the global cruise line’s fleet is set to be named Odyssey of the Seas. Set to debut in fall 2020, Odyssey of the Seas will sail from the United States.





AIDAnova Delivery Further Pushed Back
