In honor of National Relaxation Day (yesterday), Carnival Cruise Line is inviting guests to say “ooh” and “ahh” as it reveals the spaces to relax and rejuvenate on its newest ship Carnival Celebration coming to PortMiami this November.
Marking another milestone toward the completion of Carnival Celebration, the second of Carnival Cruise Line’s new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-powered ships, a coin ceremony was held today at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
The traditional steel-cutting ceremony initiated the construction of the last ship in the Mein Schiff series at the Turku shipyard on Tuesday 14th June.
How do you know a cruise ship is built for fun? By its Carnival funnel of course! So it’s worth celebrating the moment a new ship gets her iconic winged funnel — for Carnival Celebration, that moment has come.
The maritime tradition to mark the first steel cut for a new ship took place for Carnival Celebration at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, as Carnival Cruise Line prepares for its next Excel-class ship that will debut next year.

Jan Meyer, the CEO of Meyer Turku since 2014, will focus in the future on the role as Managing Director of Meyer Werft, Germany.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Meyer Turku shipyard have signed an agreement (still subject to financing) on the delivery of a third Icon class cruise ship, to be delivered from Turku in the spring of 2025.
