The steel cutting of the first of 2 new-concept gas powered ships (Liquified Natural Gas –LNG) for TUI Cruises took place at the presence of Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI, and Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager Merchant Ship Division of Fincantieri at Centro Servizi Navali, a company specialized in logistics and production of sheet metal for the Fincantieri yards located in north eastern Italy. Lloyd’s Register (LR), a leading provider of classification, compliance and advisory services to the marine and offshore industries, and Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups, marked a milestone in their long-standing relationship, with the delivery earlier this year of the Discovery Princess cruise ship – the 75th vessel to be built to LR class by Fincantieri. New Virgin Cruise Ship Gets Her Colors

The Valiant Lady now has her colors, as the final touches are being putting on the hull of the second cruise ship for Virgin Voyages in Palermo, Sicily. Delivered earlier this year to start up Virgin Voyages, the 2,770-guest ship is expected to start sailing early 2022. (cruiseindustrynews.com)
