Celebrity Edge left Chantiers de l’Atlantique for her 1st sea trials

About 60 tests will be performed during those few days to test all the systems under real conditions. She will returned at the yard on Sunday July 29th, where the work on board will be completed before her delivery to Celebrity Cruises.

Celebrity Cruises Unveils Dining for Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Cruises’ first new ship in 10 years will feature four main dining rooms, each with selections unique to it, as well as six new-to-Celebrity specialty restaurants. Only two of the line’s signature restaurants — Blu and Luminae — will return. In total, Celebrity Edge will have 15 restaurants and cafes, and 12 bars and lounges. (cruisecritic.com)

Ketchikan, Alaska: Federal report blames cruise ship’s navigators for crash

A federal report blamed cruise ship’s navigators for the boat crashing into a Ketchikan dock last year, causing more than $1 million dollars in damage. The National Transportation Safety Board report was released after a U.S. Coast Guard report concluded that the crash resulted from a combination of factors, the Ketchikan Daily News reported.
