Belfast Harbour is expecting to welcome 130 cruise ships during the 2022 season, including 18 first time visitors

Belfast Harbour (Logo)Cruise Belfast, the partnership between Belfast Harbour and Visit Belfast which markets Belfast as a leading cruise ship destination, has announced that more than 50 different vessels from 33 cruise lines are booked to dock in the city throughout 2022, with up to 340,000 visitors expected to come ashore to experience Northern Ireland’s award-winning tourist attractions. Harland & Wolff Targets Cruise Drydocks

Harland & Wolff is back targeting cruise repair jobs having been rescued by InfraStrata plc, which acquired the shipyard in December 2019. The shipyard’s main facilities in Belfast host two of the largest docks in Europe at 556 meters and 335 meters respectively, along with numerous fully serviced quayside berths, according to a statement from the yard. Record number of cruise ships set to dock in Belfast

A record number of cruise ships are set to dock in Belfast this year – up by 25% – despite the continued absence of a dedicated terminal. More than 200,000 day-trip visitors will arrive on 117 ships between this month and October. “Belfast’s popularity continues to grow,” said Michael Robinson, the harbour’s commercial director. UK: Belfast sails ahead of rivals as cruise sector prospers
