AIDA Cruises Celebrates Opening of Europe’s Largest Shore Power Plant in Germany
AIDA Cruises today announced that Europe’s largest shore power plant was officially inaugurated with one of its ships, AIDAsol, in the presence of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig and AIDA Cruises President Felix Eichhorn during the 12th German National Maritime Conference. AIDA Cruises welcomes the further opening steps in tourism especially in the north of Germany. The company is therefore pleased to be able to offer short voyages from Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein) starting May 22, 2021. 

In Civitavecchia, Italy, on Saturday evening, October 17, 2020, at 11 p.m., the command was “cast off!” for AIDAblu to the first AIDA trip since the seven-month break in the cruise season due to the corona pandemic. 
AIDA Cruises will expand its range of cruises this autumn with new voyages visiting the highlights of Italy, starting on Oct. 17, 2020. 
After the forced shutdown due to COVID-19, several ships will soon resume service. TUI, AIDA, and American Queen will be able to take advantage of special software features from MarineXchange, provider of the only enterprise platform for the cruise industry and leader for cruise-specific mobile enterprise solutions.
