A Tribute to French chansonnier George Brassens. The “Sea Cloud II” heads for Mediterranean vitality and the music of Southern Europe
Three countries, eight ports and a sophisticated music program ranging from Italian arias to French chansons – that is, in a nutshell, the extraordinary music voyage from Genoa to Valencia on the tall ship SEA CLOUD II.
The cruise is a tribute to French chansonnier Georges Brassens. Among the highlights of this voyage from 18 to 26 October 2022, is an exclusive guided tour of the “Espace Georges Brassens” in his home village of Sète, exactly on the 101st birthday of the great musician.
The guests on this sailing trip along the northern Italian and southern French coasts to Spain will be accompanied by highly talented young musicians. In keeping with its own cultural aspirations, the Hamburg-based shipping company has been able to recruit up-and-coming artists from the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg” (University of Music and Theatre Hamburg) for several concert evenings aboard the SEA CLOUD II.

As the hometown of Georges Brassens, Sète is a special highlight on this cruise: The Sea Cloud II will arrive in the small town to the day 101 years after the birth of the great artist. The curator of the Brassens Museum will exclusively take the SEA CLOUD II guests through the exhibition on the life and work of the famous chansonnier.
The evening will conclude with a concert of Brassens’ works on board.
