Largest-Ever Cruise Executive and High-Level Government Delegations Expected for FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show
The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) is proud to announce that new registration numbers indicate its upcoming FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show-the largest and only official conference and trade show in the Caribbean focused on cruise tourism, taking place in San Juan this Nov. 5-9-is expected to have both the most cruise executives and high-level government representatives in the event’s 25-year history.
Registration of Member Line executives has risen 77 percent compared to 2017, including the highest-ever number of chairmen, presidents and CEOs, with projections now calling for more than 150 at the event, and nearly 30 high-ranking government officials have already confirmed.
“We are excited to share these results because they show more evidence that this year’s event will be the best ever, but more importantly, they represent that both the cruise lines and destinations are committed to working together,” said Michele Paige, president, FCCA. “After all, that is the event’s main goal and reason for creation, and seeing the delegations makes me confident that the synergies will form not only on a high level, but also that every attendee will have an opportunity to talk to someone who can positively impact their cruise tourism business.”
As of October 3, preliminary registration of Member Line executives for the FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show was already 77 percent higher compared to the 2017 event. That caused projections to increase to an expected 150 cruise executives, who will be on hand at the event and its series of meetings, workshops and networking functions, along with the trade show that will host many private meetings and receptions.
Those registrations include the event’s highest-ever amount of chairmen, presidents and CEOs, such as Micky Arison, chairman, Carnival Corporation; Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman, MSC Cruises; Richard Fain, chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises; Adam Goldstein, vice chairman, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and chairman, FCCA; Richard Sasso, chairman, MSC Cruises USA; Arnold Donald, president and CEO, Carnival Corporation; Christine Duffy, president, Carnival Cruise Line; Jeff Vahle, president, Disney Signature Experiences; Andrew Stuart, president and CEO, Norwegian Cruise Line; Jason Montague, president and CEO, Regent Seven Seas Cruises; and Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
They will be joined by what is projected to be the event’s largest-ever high-level government delegation. Already 29 ministers and above have confirmed their attendance, including eight prime ministers or premiers and 14 ministers or commissioners of tourism from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, Nevis, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sint Maarten and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), along with the governor of USVI, Kenneth Mapp, governor of Puerto Rico, Hon. Ricardo Rosello, and mayor of San Juan, Hon. Carmen Yulin Cruz. Beyond supporting their destination delegations at the event and attending the functions and meetings, they are also scheduled to participate in the Heads of Government Forum, gathering them with the above top-level executives for a reception and meeting to discuss targeted issues at local and regional levels.
Overall, the event will gather nearly 1,000 cruise tourism stakeholders with 150 high-level executives throughout numerous sectors and Member Lines to develop understanding, relationships and mutual success during an agenda blending business sessions and casual interaction.
