WICO Reports 314 Cruise Calls as Harbor Dredging Nears

St. Thomas - USVI (Photo courtesy The West Indian Company Ltd)The West Indian Company Limited has recorded 314 cruise ship calls so far this year as passenger traffic approaches pre-pandemic levels, while work on the Charlotte Amalie Harbor dredging project is expected to begin within the next 60 to 90 days, according to a press release.

WICO President and CEO Joseph Boschulte provided the cruise and infrastructure updates during the company’s Aug. 28 board meeting. WICO projects approximately 1.2 million cruise passengers and more than 360 ship calls in fiscal year 2027, with fiscal year 2026 serving as a benchmark for future performance, the press release stated.

The Charlotte Amalie Harbor dredging project is expected to take about a year to complete once work begins.
