Travelmarvel Welcomes Its Newest River Ship: TM Rigel Sets Sail on the Rhine, Main and Danube
Travelmarvel, the premium arm of APT Travel Group, has announced the inaugural sailing of its newest European river ship, the TM Rigel, departing Amsterdam on 30 June 2026 on the popular European Gems itinerary to Budapest.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Travelmarvel’s ongoing investment in river cruising, strengthening further its position among the most modern fleets on Europe’s waterways.
The TM Rigel joins sister ships Polaris, Capella and Vega on the Rhine, Main and Danube, completing a fleet of custom-designed vessels built to the same high standard.
Accommodating up to 178 guests across 89 cabins and attended by a crew of 44, Rigel has been purpose-built for today’s traveller, offering an immersive, unhurried way to experience Europe with every detail taken care of as part of its fully inclusive offering.

The TM Rigel reflects Travelmarvel’s commitment to delivering contemporary river cruising at exceptional value. Designed for today’s traveller, the ship combines modern amenities with flexible spaces that allow guests to experience Europe’s waterways in comfort and at their own pace.
On board, guests can enjoy an expansive Sun Deck with jacuzzi, a fitness centre, and a choice of dining and social venues. Accommodation includes spacious Owner’s Suites and French-style Balcony Suites, featuring electronic slide-down windows that bring the passing scenery of the Rhine, Main and Danube directly into the guest experience.
Dining is centred around the Constellations Restaurant, while the True North Lounge offers a more relaxed setting for light meals and drinks. Guests can also unwind in the unique McGeary’s Bar, a signature venue inspired by the atmosphere of a traditional pub.
The ship’s inaugural departure will be celebrated with a special sail-away event. On the second day of the voyage, 31 June 2026, guests and crew will gather on the Sun Deck for the ceremonial ringing of the ship’s bell, marking the beginning of TM Rigel’s service and the next phase of Travelmarvel’s continued investment in European river cruising.
