Cruise Europe Lab conclusions from CEC 2026
Following an interactive workshop at the Cruise Europe Conference in Reykjavik, led by the commercial team, Louise Landler and Luis de Carvalho, at Copenhagen Malmo Port, the conclusions to the five initiatives – cruise & community value; winter cruise readiness; cruise rapid response; future cruise experience; and visitor flow coordination – have been sent out to all the attendees.
CE managing director, Jens Skrede, was delighted with the outcome and says that the flow charts, which will be uploaded onto the CE website in the next few weeks, will be used as practical guidelines going forward.
In each case an emerging approach was highlighted with discussions pointing towards a practical framework but around three interconnected elements. In the case of cruise & community value, these pointed to engagement, visibility and evidence.
When it comes to winter cruise readiness, the three elements are preparation, flexibility and collaboration. For cruise rapid response, communication, coordination and contingency are key whilst for future cruise experience, discover, personalise and experience took centre stage. Finally, visitor flow coordination calls for plan, distribute and coordinate.
