Norwegian Cruise Line® Invites Travelers to Embrace the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO) with Travel Week Deal

Norwegian Cruise Line - NCL (logo)Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced its latest holiday promotion just in time for Travel Tuesday – 50% off all cruises and free prepaid gratuities for sailings three nights and longer.

With the Company’s marathon of holiday deals this season and 15 of its ships sailing to the Caribbean through March, NCL is making it easier than ever for guests to ease post-holiday stress and cruise into 2026. For many travelers that means embracing the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO), a growing travel trend that encourages slowing down, disconnecting, and focusing on experiences that truly matter.

The end of the year is often filled with joy from festive holidays to meaningful moments spent reconnecting with loved ones. However, it’s also a time when many people find themselves stretched thin with endless engagements and pending deadlines.

A new global survey conducted by YouGov1 on behalf of NCL found that 64% of consumers feel the end-of-year period is especially stressful, citing reasons as holiday spending (43%), gift buying (38%), family obligations and hosting duties (36%), social commitments (30%) and the expectation to attend events one may not truly enjoy (28%).

Additionally, with so many demands piling up, it’s no surprise that more than half of respondents (52%) are actively planning a relaxing getaway in early 2026 to reset. Beyond having fun (44%) and seeing new places (43%), the top motivations for travel next year include recharging (36%), leaving behind everyday stress (35%), unplugging from day-to-day life responsibility (33%) and increasing emotional well-being (30%).

Survey respondents ranked cruises as the ultimate JOMO-style escape, with the Caribbean leading the trend for its warm weather, natural beauty and laid-back rhythm.

With Travel Tuesday offering one of the best opportunities for guests to plan and book their next vacation, NCL invites travelers to turn holiday and end-of-year stress into anticipation for a restorative and effortless escape. Moreover, NCL’s latest promotion combined with its guest-favorite Free at SeaTM program, makes it effortless for travelers to vacation at sea with the amenities that they value most at a savings of over $2,000, including specialty dining, unlimited open bar, high-speed Wi-Fi and shore excursion credits.

Additionally, kids can also sail free on over 650 select NCL sailings making it easier than ever for families to travel together. With fewer logistics to manage and more time to relax, guests can focus on what really matters: disconnecting, relaxing and enjoying the journey.

“As the year winds down, travelers are telling us they’re ready to step away from the pressure and pace of everyday life,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

“With many travelers feeling overwhelmed by end-of-year obligations and over half planning a restorative escape in early 2026, we’re proud to offer cruise experiences that truly match this need. Our expanded Caribbean program, including more calls to our exclusive and newly enhanced private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, is designed to give guests the freedom to do everything or nothing at all. Whether it’s a short and sunny Bahamas getaway or a longer Caribbean voyage, we make it easy to unplug, recharge and embrace the Joy of Missing Out.”

NCL’s Caribbean offering is tailor-made for travelers seeking rest, flexibility and freedom. With the majority of its ships in the region at the start of the year, including the all-new Norwegian LunaTM debuting in March, guests can choose from itineraries ranging four to 14 days, departing from nine convenient homeports, including Miami and Port Canaveral (Orlando), Fla.; New York City; Punta Cana (La Romana), Dominican Republic; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
