More Filipino cruise ship workers taken into federal custody while docked in Norfolk
Federal authorities took four Filipino cruise workers into custody Sunday while their ship was docked in Norfolk and arranged to have them deported the next day, according to members of two Filipino advocacy groups.
Sunday’s incident brought the number of Carnival Cruise Line workers who’ve been apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers while docked at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Norfolk over the past several months to 28, according to the advocacy groups.
