Marella Cruises launches summer 2026 itineraries with special solar eclipse cruise and revamped itineraries on Marella Discovery 2
Marella Cruises, TUI’s UK cruise line, has announced a special solar eclipse sailing aboard Marella Discovery 2 in summer 2026.
This special voyage offers guests the opportunity to witness the solar eclipse at sea on 12th August 2026, in Palamos. Additionally, Marella Discovery 2 will feature newly updated itineraries and expanded Cruise & Stay options across the fleet. All summer sailings will go on sale from 17th October 2024.
The solar eclipse sailing on Marella Discovery 2 will take place on the newly revamped ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’ itinerary, on the 11th August 2026, which will set sail from Palma, Majorca, sailing through: Palamos, Spain, Propriano, France, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy, Salerno (for Pompeii and Amalfi), Italy, Palermo, Sicily and returning to Palma Majorca. This will be the first time Marella Cruises has created a specific itinerary to allow eclipse-chasers the chance to see the lunar experience at sea.
In addition, Marella Discovery 2 will have another revamped itinerary with sailings from the 12th May 2026 on ‘Jewels of the Mediterranean’ itinerary. This sailing will start from Palma, Majorca and sail through: Olbia, Sardinina, La Spezia (for Portofino and Florence), Italy, Villefrance (for Monaco), France, Toulon (for Cote D’Azur), France, Palamos, Spain and returning to Palma, Majorca.
Customers can also celebrate Marella Cruises’ 30th birthday sailings on 7th May 2026 across the whole fleet of ships from the 7th May 2026 sailing from Corfu, Greece, Limassol, Cyprus, Palma, Majorca and Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Marella Cruises has also extended its Cruise & Stay offering by giving more choice for customers in different destinations, with 18 new hotels in Cyprus, Croatia, Corfu and Spain to add to the 112 hotels available for cruise & stay guests, operated from 20 airports across the UK.
