Viva Cruises announces Shiri Gordon as the godmother of their second new build ship, VIVA TWO
River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, will christen its new flagship VIVA TWO on 23 March 2023.
After the launch of its first build ship in spring 2022, the Düsseldorf-based company will reach another significant milestone with the reveal of its second build ship.
VIVA TWO’s godmother will be Shiri Gordon, CEO and co-owner of the Tel Aviv-based leading tour operator ‘The Gordon Travel Group’ and long-time partner of VIVA Cruises and its parent company, Scylla AG.
“We are celebrating five years of VIVA Cruises this year and, since the beginning, we have been focused on innovation and branching out of the ordinary. This is continuing with the christening of VIVA TWO and with the selection of our godmother. This decision also represents our gratitude to all of our partners who we work with on a daily basis. Shiri Gordon is the perfect representative for us and for all of our partners; standing for successful women in leadership positions and showcasing our passion for the river cruise industry” says Andrea Kruse, COO of VIVA Cruises.
Shiri Gordon is the third generation to lead The Gordon Travel Group. Since 1977, the family-owned company has grown into one of the leading tour operators in Israel, offering a variety of personalised and original experiences worldwide.
“It is a great honour for me to be the godmother of this fantastic new ship. Scylla’s respect for family and tradition combined with their uncompromising standards, innovative approach and personal touch stuck out to me from the start. As we share the same business philosophy, building our long-standing partnership with VIVA Cruises came as a natural fit to both parties,” says Shiri Gordon.
VIVA TWO’s christening will see internationally invited guests as well as business partners coming together to celebrate this milestone.
The Düsseldorf-based VIVA Cruises team – including Andrea Kruse, COO of VIVA Cruises, and Arno Reitsma, Managing Director of VIVA Cruises and the parent company Scylla AG – will welcome the guests on board the new ship for its christening festivities. German TV presenter, Marco Schreyl, will also be in attendance to guide the event and host the naming ceremony of VIVA TWO.
Owing to the central berth directly in Düsseldorf’s old town, passer-by’s will also be able to watch the naming ceremony from the shore – with a perfect view of the ship and all its festivities directly from the quay.
