Hardangerfjord – Port of Eidfjord, Norway, looks forward to newcomers this season

Hardangerfjord is expecting 134 calls this year, bringing more than 230,000 passengers to Eidfjord, Rosendal and Ulvik, given full passenger capacity.
The season began February 22 and ends December 21. A number of cruise lines will be visiting for the first time, including Norwegian Cruise Line, Ponant, Silversea Cruises, Disney Cruise Line and Ambassador Cruise Line.
The Eidfjord municipality is considering the introduction of shoreside electricity. A committee has delivered a report to the city council which will discuss further action. Simakraft Hydropower Station in Eidfjord is one of the main suppliers of hydro electricity in Norway.
A half-day cider safari, is being offered in Eidfjord for the first time this summer. Passengers will embark a local boat for a guided tour, stopping off in Osafjorden and Ulvik harbour to visit Ulvik Fruit and Cider Farm for an exclusive 90-minute visit and tasting hosted by the owner.
This will be followed by a restaurant lunch showcasing local traditional food. Passengers will meet only locals, taste only local products and are told only local and traditional stories.
