Oceanwide Expeditions’ Hondius to embark on first Arctic voyage. 25% discount on select voyages
The first walk on board Hondius
After more than two years in construction, Hondius is scheduled to sail from Split, Croatia, on its maiden voyage for Vlissingen, Netherlands, where the Oceanwide Expeditions headquarters is located.
The world’s first-registered Polar Class 6 vessel has completed its extensive series of sea trials, achieved speeds, and all systems are exceeding expectations.
After reaching Vlissingen, Hondius will set out on its first expedition cruise on June 3, continuing with some of the most popular Arctic voyages for the remainder of the summer.
25% discount on select Hondius Arctic voyages
To celebrate the launch of Hondius, we’re offering a 25% discount on new reservations in twin porthole cabins. The reduced price is illustrated on the trip page, and all cabins are subject to availability at the time of your request.
This offer is valid until June 1, 2019, for the trips listed below.
HDS03a-19: Whale Safari in Fair Isle, Jan Mayen, and Spitsbergen
The first expedition is an 11-night whale-watching trip to Fair Isle, Jan Mayen, and Spitsbergen, running from June 3 – 14. This voyage stops in Aberdeen before reaching the Arctic, where you may spot orcas (killer whales), bowheads, humpbacks, harp seals, Arctic foxes, numerous seabirds, and of course, polar bears – all while admiring awe-inspiring Arctic sights like Mt. Beerenberg, Forlandsundet, and Alkhornet.
HDS07-19 & HDS08-19: Full Navigation Around Spitsbergen
Later in July, Hondius makes two “Around Spitsbergen” voyages that fully circumnavigate the Arctic island of Spitsbergen. This is among the best places in the world to spot polar bears, among other iconic Arctic wildlife.
HDS11-19: Full Spitsbergen Circumnavigation and Visit to Kvitøya
And then in August, Hondius sets out on our exciting “North (82 Degree) & Around Spitsbergen – Kvitøya Full Spitsbergen Circumnavigation” voyage, which takes you beyond the 82nd latitude north in search of polar bears, walruses, seals, Arctic foxes, and seabirds.
In addition to the above-mentioned voyages, Hondius will also embark on a number of other trips over the coming summer.
