Expedition Cruise specialist One Ocean Expeditions adds new Golf Program

Guests can pack their bags AND clubs when joining One Ocean Expeditions’ (OOE) new Golf & Cruise programs. These innovative cruises combine golf on some of the world’s finest and most challenging courses with seafaring expeditions to the wilds of Canada’s East Coast and Scotland.

Renowned for its expeditionary and transformative voyages throughout Antarctica, the Arctic and Canada’s East Coast (including Sable Island), OOE has added the 2018 Canada’s East Coast Golf Expedition, Fiddles & Sticks (June 27-July 4, 2018) to its ever-growing list of original expedition voyages.

Still in the planning stage, in June 2019, OOE will launch its second golf voyage and head to Scotland, the birthplace of the modern game. An absolute dream trip for golfers and travellers in search of adventure and culture, the expedition will explore the dramatic Scottish Coast and Highlands, stopping at some of the world’s most famous golf courses.

“Our Golf & Cruise programs bring a new dimension to the fast-growing expedition cruise industry. We’ve always been innovators however, for our 10-year anniversary, OOE is cranking it up a notch with the introduction of non-polar destinations and new, active programs”, said Andrew Prossin, OOE’s Managing Director.

More about Fiddles and Sticks: To tee off this program, OOE begins this Canadian golf expedition in Nova Scotia at the Louisbourg Fortress, one of Parks Canada’s National Historic sites. The voyage sails along the breathtaking coast of Cape Breton Island, Prince Edward Island and the mystical Sable Island. There is plenty of time to immerse in the natural beauty, culture and wildlife.

On Canada’s East Coast, guests will play at the impressive Ben Crenshaw-designed Cabot Cliffs at Inverness; its neighbouring Cabot Links; Prince Edward Island’s The Links at Crowbush; and the historic Highlands Links in Ingonish, which dates back to the 1930s. Each course is featured in Golf Digest’s Canadian Top 20, with Cabot Cliffs ranked number 1. For something a little off-the-beaten-track, guests will enjoy the beautiful coastal views from Quebec’s Les Iles-de-la-Madeleine’s nine-hole golf course, L’Etang-du-Nord.

This eight-day 2018 Fiddles & Sticks cruise is well priced, starting at US$3,395 in triple share. Inclusive of green fees for all courses, all meals on board (including packed lunches on golfing days), transfers during the voyage from ship to shore (including clubs and gear) and a comprehensive program for non-golfers led by expert guides.

Guests on the 2018 Fiddles and Sticks voyage will travel on board One Ocean Navigator / Akademik Ioffe. The vessel carries fewer than 96 passengers, offering an intimate setting for bonding with staff and like-minded guests on board.
