IST expands to Argentina and Uruguay

IST, the technology partner of choice for the cruise industry, announces its expansion in Latin America, with two new authorised distributors in Argentina and Uruguay: the firms Expan in Argentina and Nusfer for the Uruguayan market.

IST, with its robustly built FIBOS Technology, allows tourism driven enterprises to link directly with 30 of the world’s leading cruise lines and check availability and make bookings on over 14,000 different cruises. Today over 45,000 agencies are connected via FIBOS Technology, representing a total of some 500 million transactions per annum.

To aid the sales of cruise products, IST offers the tourism market a wide range of online services to help set up B2C websites, develop B2B applications or implement apps for mobile devices. FIBOS Technology allows you to see availability and book on over 14,000 different cruises.

Amongst other outstanding features offered, its XML solutions are great for getting quotes and making bookings for cruises. Technological solutions like FIBOS or FDF (FIBOS-DATA-FEED) allow the daily automatic updating of the cruise inventory to be able to offer the availability of sailings, prices, categories and itineraries and thus greatly simplify the cruise booking process.

Diego Disabato, General Manager of EXPAN, announced, “Expan is delighted to be appointed as the authorised distributor of such an excellent tool for all Argentinian travel agents and tour operators whose portfolio includes the sale of cruises. And for those not already familiar with it, we would love to invite you to get to know it. It offers a unique opportunity to grow your businesses, taking advantage of the exponential growth there has been in the sale of cruises in our country over recent years”.

Gabriel Grinschpun, Sales Director of NUSFER, the authorised distributor of IST Solutions in Uruguay, underscored the tendency for the country’s cruise market to grow. “We believe this to be just the right time to embark on this adventure together with IST” declared Grinschpun. The Sales Director also pointed out that increasingly “the sector is becoming aware of the importance of using and implementing the new technologies in the tourist sector”.

Manuel Sardi, CEO and Managing Director of IST expressed his satisfaction with the new agreements in Latin America and said they represented a “qualitative leap forwards” with respect to the sales of the Spanish firm’s technological solutions in the region. IST now has a presence in 14 Latin American countries and its managing director assures us that the goal of this new agreement is to help “support a market in constant growth“.
