Snow-Shoeing by Day, Jacuzzi & Cocktails by Night on Soft Adventure One Ocean Expeditions’ Polar Cruise

Akademik IoffeA voyage to the Antarctic can be as active or as relaxed as you wish with small cruise specialist, One Ocean Expeditions (OOE).  Its 12-night ‘Antarctica – Off the Beaten Track’ departure (November 6-18, 2017), which coincides with the arrival of a multitude of penguins, whales, seals, and seabirds to the region, offers a good selection of soft adventure activities, combined with travel on a modern, comfortable ship, sumptuous meals and an onboard spa.
Whilst crossing the infamous Drake Passage (from Argentina to Antarctica) onboard one of the most stable vessels sailing in polar waters, passengers can ease themselves gently in to the voyage by learning about the stunning environment, plentiful wildlife and fascinating history of this beautiful polar region, through a series of presentations by onboard experts.  Out on deck, the complimentary use of high quality Nikon professional binoculars will come in useful to watch the wandering albatross, giant petrels and cape petrels as they follow the ship across the Southern Ocean.

For those who would really like to experience the optimum snow conditions early in the season, novice snow shoeing – for which no previous experience is required – is also available on landing sites.  And, with 25 per cent more staff on this trip than on other OOE departures – over and above the regular 1:4 staff to passenger ratio – there is plenty of help and support on hand to assist with all the extra activities that are available.

Onboard experts include photographic specialists who can offer enhanced photography excursions or can simply be on hand to answer queries and advice on how to get the best shots of wildlife and landscape in the Antarctic polar terrain.
Daily zodiac excursions, guided hikes and onboard educational seminars led by OOE’s expert staff are all included in this 12-night package, as are all meals, including afternoon tea, ship transfers, foul weather gear and overnight camping.

Prices start from US $8,495pp for a triple share cabin, and from US$10,695pp for twin share.  An early booking incentive of US$1000pp is available until 31 December 2016.
