Study: Here’s how Port Tampa Bay ranks among top cruise ports

Port Tampa BayPort Tampa Bay is one of the best places to cruise out of in the world, according to the number of passengers it sees. There were nearly 600,000 cruise line embarkations at the Tampa port last year, based on a biennial study from Cruise Lines International Association. Hundreds of passengers arrived at Port Tampa Bay Saturday to board the Carnival Paradise. The cruise ship was originally scheduled to dock in Havana, Cuba, but has since been given a new itinerary. Many passengers were unhappy with this last-minute change, as it was a dream vacation they had been planning for over a year. (fox13news.com)

Port of Tampa Breaks Weekend Cruise Record

Port Tampa BayPort Tampa Bay saw a record number of cruise ship passengers during two recent weekends. 19,876 guests arrived and departed ships the weekend of February 3 and 4, breaking the previous record. Then last weekend, February 17 and 18, there was a total of 22,960 passengers, breaking the record again. (cruiseradio.net)

Carnival launches its Tampa to Havana cruise

Port Tampa Bay CEO Paul Anderson couldn’t stop himself from dancing Thursday as a band performed the mambo aboard the ship Carnival Paradise. It was a party, after all, a celebration of Carnival Cruise Line’s first-ever journey to Havana that would launch later that day. (tampabay.com)
