Heritage Expeditions releases new South Pacific voyage exploring Fiji, Samoa and Tonga
Pioneering small-ship expedition cruise company Heritage Expeditions has released a brand-new paradisiacal island-hopping adventure through the South Pacific, exploring Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, and the remote ‘islands of hidden treasures’ Wallis and Futuna.
The family-owned and operated cruise company’s Commercial Director and Expedition Leader, Aaron Russ, said the new 11-day voyage, Tropical Islands of Fiji, Samoa & Tonga Cruise, pairs iconic South Pacific destinations with rarely visited islands and atolls often overlooked by traditional tourists.
“This voyage is for adventurers of all levels looking to explore off the beaten track, experience endemic wildlife encounters and time-forgotten cultures, then relax on white-sand beaches and snorkel warm waters teeming with colourful corals and marine life,” he said.
Highlights of the Fiji return voyage include discovering the limestone islands of Fulaga, the lush jungles of Bouma National Heritage Park and Tafua Rainforest Reserve, snorkelling Palolo Deep Marine Reserve and the iconic Swallows Cave, and discovering ancient Polynesian traditions, fascinating WWII history and reef-fringed lagoons across Wallis and Futuna, including the Important Bird Area of Alofi.
In addition to snorkelling pristine reefs and coral gardens, guests have the opportunity to explore rarely visited jungles in search of the Samoan Flying Fox, Fijian Monkey-faced Bat and rare endemic birds including the Taveuni Silktail, Mao, Samoan Island Thrush and elusive Tooth-billed Pigeon, Samoa’s treasured national bird and one of the closest living relatives of the Dodo.
